Are we capable of recognizing our own humanity, or do we prefer to hide so as to avoid showing our vulnerability?

Why do we choose to hide our feelings and true emotions? Las Ocultas, through self-portraiture, uphold appearance and betray their essence, hiding who they truly are in order to feel accepted, thus losing their freedom by letting fear and judgment decide for them.

Trapped by their judgments, characters dilute the capacity of showing themselves as they are; and lose the opportunity to experience the most primary and elementary truth, that would pave the way towards recovering their true essence, that which they have betrayed.” C Behrensen.
